Struggling Sofas

So, I got this amazingly cool old sofa from a friend of mine who wanted it out of his basement - which lead it into my house.

It is gorgeous.

It is also in dire need of serious TLC.

Now, that's fine. I don't mind fixing stuff (or - - - TRYING to fix stuff, in this case), but this time I met my nemesis. I just don't have the patience to do this:

... and this:

...and remove the old fabric, replace it with something new, and then...

PUT IT ALL BACK TOGETHER...

Needless to say this project is turning out to be the greatest project on the Prairie. 

At least my living room is full of old, new stuff.

If that's a good thing....
